Overview

The Assist with Self Administration course is designed for carers providing home care, as well as those working in care facilities, and develops an understanding of the principles and procedures around providing assistance with medication.

  • A practical understanding of the legal and procedural requirements for providing assistance with self medication
  • The knowledge of commonly used medication related terms and acronyms
  • An understanding of key medication management concepts
  • A Practical understanding of procedures to follow to handle a range of contingencies that may arise

  • Acceptable forms of client identification
  • Common abbreviations
  • Reporting and record keeping
