Overview

Teaches the learner how to plan for end of life care, how to maintain a co-ordinated care pattern, and some of the frameworks and procedures in place to assist in maintaining a high standard of care.

Learning Outcomes

Completing the End Of Life Care course should equip the learner with:

  • A practical understanding of how to prepare for end of life care
  • A knowledge of appropriate behaviour
  • An awareness of how to minimise risk and distress, and
  • An understanding of the roles and responsibilities surrounding end of life care
Course Content

This course covers:

  • When ‘end of life’ care begins and how to prepare for the end of life
  • What a Care Pathway is
  • How to discuss and plan during the end of life stage
  • Roles and responsibilities during this stage, and
  • How to cause the least distress
